... am I the only one in the world who dislikes Apple?

The computers are way over priced. iPhones suck compared to many other smart phones, iPods aren't quite as awesome as people think.  iPads are a joke. ... and the number one reason is You can usually find a better product for half the price if you just shop around a little.

I assure you as a former Apple Care support representative and current geek I am more than qualified to say such things.
To show that this isn't just me spewing meaningless words I will break down the above statement so all can see my reasons for my distaste for apple.

"The computers are way over priced"
... The cheapest Mac i see from Store.apple.com is the Mac mini  For $699
2.4GHz : 320GB
  • 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 2GB memory
  • 320GB hard drive1
  • 8x double-layer SuperDrive
  • NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics
  • Mac OS X Snow Leopard
Click here to see a PC you can get for the same price at Best Buy.   If the specs mean nothing to you then Ill make it simple. Its more than twice as fast, and is just as reliable. You would have to spend $1900 on a new iMac to get something comparable.

iPhones suck compared to many other smart phones
Yeah you heard me right.  People just love their iPhones and I wont get into specifics (mainly cause im too lazy) but for the longest time it was a running joke at my last job.One coworker ran out and got the iPhone the moment it was available and every time my boss or someone else would do somthing with their other brand smart phone they would say "Can you do this with your phone?... oooh I forgot you have an iPhone"  well now you can do a lot more with iPhones than you could back then but you can still do at least as much with a droid (or other Google Android phone), but quite often a droid can do it cheaper. Sadly we are often limited by what our carrier has, and I'm noticing AT&T doesn't seem to have a Non-Apple decent selection.
"iPods aren't quite as awesome as people think."
I did iPod tech support and believe me there isn't much one can do to fix an iPod. Reset, restore, or send it in. Of course that goes for just about any MP3 player. The problem with iPods is you are paying too much for Apple's name plus all the bells and whistles no ever needs. (Who needs to play solitaire on my mp3 player in church anyway) You can usually order an MP3 player from http://us.creative.com/ (you know the people who pretty much invented computer sound) with about twice the capacity for a fraction of the cost.
The best thing iPod has going for them is iTunes. As much as it pains me to say it, it is the best option for converting, downloading and playing music. Unfortunately you are required to use an iPod to bring this music with you without violating law or terms of service. (or burn to a cd, but who wants to do that)  Of course it doesn't help that my hold button broke, as my church is now well aware of.

"iPads are a joke"
Jamie and Teresa of  Packrat-Comics have managed to find the one legitimate use for one of these overpriced devices. Though it seems to serve them well, even my boy Saul had a few issues with it.   ... also for $500 would expandable memory be too much to ask for?

"and the number one reason is You can usually find a better product for half the price if you just shop around a little."   my computer and mp3 player arguements pretty much already covered this.

If you own an Apple product and like it, good for you. I am happy for you and do not wish to ruin your happiness. This may be hard for you to imagine but you could have done better.
